Information Model for Network
Evident Software's Information Model is a flexible construct of users/organizations, locations and applications (or services). Within this model, IT network usage is aggregated, correlated and rated by Evident Enterprise. Customers work with Evident Software during deployment to establish the information model's hierarchies that will best meet their reporting and analysis needs.
Configurable Hierarchies
- Location hierarchy models the topology of the network, data centers and business office locations
- Organization hierarchy models the organizational entities that will be reported on or charged for IT network usage
- Applications/Services active in the environment are configured into the information model as protocols or a combination of protocols, which can define an enterprise application
Rich Metrics
Once the collected data is aggregated, correlated and rated per the Evident Information Model, a wealth of IT usage and cost information is available for reporting and analysis.
- Bytes of data transferred (sent/received/total)
- Cost of application/service usage (billable bytes)
- Conversations (count of data transfers between two endpoints)
- Time period (annual/month/day/peak/off-peak)
